Afformance is one of the star members from a blooming Greek post-rock scene, taking cues from bands around the world and creating a unique expression with it. "A Tide from the Flickering Sun" was released on a CD single earlier this year, and gives a good impression of where this band is headed. Afformance adopts a laid back style akin to This is a Process of a Still Life, but also seeks more contrast in their compositions, which are somewhat reminiscent of Mono. Still, it's hard to place the band's work in the end, as it takes a cinematic journey through some very exhilarating highs and lows. Overall, quite a wonderful little track.

Much bigger things are in the works for Afformance, including a split with fellow Grecian M5x6. Word is that new material will not be so calm and laid back; it's anyone's guess what this quintet has in store for the future...
