I Hear Sirens have been on The Silent Ballet radar for quite some time. Initially scouted by the keen eye of Jonathan Brooks, we've slowly watched this quartet grow into a mature post-rock act. "Ashes Fall Like Snowflakes" gives us a sneak peak of the band's bright future. Strong rhythm meets dazzling keys, and together they carve out a rich track. The authoritative tone present is reminiscent of bands such as pg.lost and Aerial, but the emotional content maintained is the true success story here. After an extended interludes begins to take the listener out of the scene, the climax is crisply reintroduced with a flurry of distortion and frantic drumming, which brings us home once again. Nine minutes pass in the blink of an eye.
With a debut release on the horizon, I Hear Sirens is eying that "rookie of the year" award, and by all indications, they're going to putting up tough competition. Currently, the band's immediate plans involve touring during the summer, hooking up with great acts like Gifts From Enola, Things Falling Apart, and L'elan Vital for some shows out West.
