Kashiwa Daisuke - Program Music I

Although certain elements of Kashiwa Daisuke's sound may certainly be credited as influenced by  World's End Girlfriend, there's still a sense that this young Japanese electronic artist is carving his own niche. Regardless of the countless implications this stirs up, Daisuke's latest work, Program Music I, is an impressive compositional exercise which places him in good company as one of the leading digital composers in the world. The hour long album is split into two tracks, which are surprisingly lush and, at times, orchestral for a guy standing behind a computer. Standard electronic components do play a role somewhere between the various layers of Program Music I, but the synthesis of Daisuke's sound is the real treat here. This comes highly recommended.
