Had established acts like Rachel's or Matthew Cooper not gotten comfortable with their defined niche, they might sound a little bit like Worrytrain. Fog Dance, My Moth Kingdom is Joshua Geissler's forth album and second this year (after the stunning Destroy the Wallstreet Sundial), and it takes a large detour from its electronically centered predecessor. The works centers around classical themes, driving piano and string compositions like Olafur Arnalds, yet Geissler still applies his signature experimental bent to the work by degrading pieces into a wash of noise and chaos. It's dark and brooding, but breathtaking nonetheless. Geissler is quickly making himself a high profile musician around these parts.
