Efterklang is one band who cannot be pinned down. Each release sees the Danish powerhouse morphing their sound into new and adventurous creations, inviting the listener to experience the band for the first time all over again. Parades is no exception, as the band has gone to painstaking lengths to recast their signature Nordic sound. What we get is something that is, contrary to the album's title, less celebratory than past work, but just as emotional and thoughtful, if not moreso. A wider palette of emotions is used here to entertain the audience, which is now dazzled by the variety of genres Efterklang is capable of pulling out and perfecting. Love it or hate it, the band never puts on the same show twice.
