If you can claim to have followed instrumental music in Australia over the last few years, then it's near impossible that Roam the Hello Clouds doesn't look like a supergroup of some kind. Boasting a lineup of Laurence Pike (Triosk), David Miller (Pivot), and Phil Slater (Bo5n), Roam the Hello Clouds is as jazzy and experimental as we've come to expect from these fine musicians. Backed by the always excellent ~scape label, Near Misses is essential listening. It will only takes minutes for this remarkable trio to suck the listener into its hazy, seductive world. Tracks like "Pretender's Hand" and "Twenties in the Eighties" certainly keep us coming back for more. Outstanding.
