By my accounts, it's been over two months since we've featured some "epic post-rock" as band of the week here at The Silent Ballet. We'd hate to make you think that we've given up on it, so here goes: while browsing through a towering stack of "incoming CDs", I stumble across johnnytwentythree. What's so special about them? Well, the 20 minute track gets us anticipating greatness, and the following 13 and 15 minutes tracks don't disappoint either. Albeit, j23 take quite a few cues from their peers, but they handle themselves so well in these ambitious pieces that we've got to tip our hats to that. Richard White's already run off to the bathroom for undisclosed reasons, best not to be too far back in line on this one.
