The latest album from God is an Astronaut witnesses the trio breaking away from its electronica roots and stepping onto a larger playing field. The band's experimental edge is pushed to the limit; free from the dependence on synthesizers, Far from Refuge begins to dabble in classical and rock oriented compositions, and the true star of the performance is the band's ability to glide effortlessly through numerous genres and influences and present an album that is completely its own. Although the side of the band was already present in previous recordings, the subtleties had difficulty distinguishing themselves from the high-energy music. Have no doubts, this is one of the best bands in music today.
