While 2007 is coming to a swift close, we're already looking ahead to 2008 here at The Silent Ballet. The year looks like it will be packed full of goodies from some of our favorite artists, but Arms and Sleepers has already surprised us with quite a remarkable little debut release. Black Paris '86 masterfully combines electronic/ambient schools of thought with some good old fashioned indie-rock/shoegazing pop. It's difficult not to get completely drawn into the captivating melodies and blissful tones, especially when accompanied by ethereal vocals. One taste of "Warm" or "71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance" will get you hooked, and tracks like "Butterflycather" and "Lausanne" will keep us coming back for more. Highly recommended for fans of Lights out Asia, Port-Royal, Jatun.
